Medical Caravan

6mths

"People in rural areas are prone to lose their lives due to inaccessibility of medical treatment of curable diseases."

The combined impact of current conflict, inflation and drought have significant impact on the health and nutrition status of vulnerable groups living in rural Ethiopia. The impacts were most clearly manifested in the deterioration of health status and increased prevalence of malnutrition. In addition, there are high risks of outbreaks of diseases such as Acute watery Diarrhea (AWD), measles, meningitis etc...

Backa Community Development Association (BCDA), taking into consideration the burden of health institutions and the seriousness the aforementioned health challenges, planned sustainable and comprehensive healthcare caravan with the intention of giving relief to stresses upon health institutions and to save lives of victims of curable diseases.

BCDA's 2015 medical caravan have reached more than 20,000 patients"
